Volcán is a South Texas based Indie Latin project formed in late 2014. The group boasts a full rhythm section (comprised of drums, congas, bongos, timbales, and bass), a full brass section (comprised of trumpet, trombone, alto saxophone, and mellophone), a state champion accordionist, a prolific lead guitarist, and best-in-class vocals. Volcán is all original, opting never to use covers despite their dedication to bringing traditional cultural sounds to a new generation of Latinos.

From the group: we hold ourselves to a very high standard. Creating pieces of music that stretch the definition of what traditional latin music can be and modernizing our favorite classic sounds for a younger audience is an enormous cultural responsibility and we gladly accept the challenge.

Artists Volcán has shared the stage with (only Grammy award winners listed): Jimmy Gonzales and Grupo Mazz Flaco Jimenez
The Grim Folk
The Grim Folk
San Antonio dark country/psychobilly band The Grim Folks have been taking the San Antonio music scene by storm, albeit in their own way. Not one to mix in with the rest, The Grim Folks deliver a fresh and exciting sound in a city obsessed with metal and Mexican regional music. It’s not to say they don’t fit the bill; simply, they aren’t the typical band you would expect to come across. That, however, is a damn good thing. At home with the punk and goth crowds, The Grim Folks play macabre songs inspired from “roots” Americana full of dark humor and superstitious folklore with an undisguised energy. They aren’t exclusive to particular crowds; they have a loose and inviting vibe anyone can enjoy.

“When it comes to writing lyrics, my influence is inspired by horror movies I watched as a kid or stories of the supernatural, “said Nathan Quintanilla, the band’s vocalist and rhythm guitarist. “That enticing feeling I get when seeing or hearing these things is what I try to shape into lyrics. You may also hear a song about drinking a whole lot and burning in hell, but those usually come from simply being under the influence.”

The band, rounded out by lead guitarist Mark Villanueva, drummer Kevin Ruiz, and upright bassist Chris Stone got it’s start in 2010 as a solo project to Quintanilla. The music went through various dark western and psychobilly styles before solidifying into its present sound and stable lineup. “We've been told that the music has a bluesy, “spaghetti-western touch” to “deliciously dark and exuberantly hook filled”, said Quintanilla. This makes them unique to the San Antonio music scene. “Some say there aren’t many bands like us here in San Antonio, so that’s flattering enough for me.
North By North
North By North
Rock 'n' roll road-warriors North by North wear their midwestern charm on their sleeve. All artwork is beautifully designed by the band to compliment their heavily textured blend of '70s psychedelia and lo-fi pop-infused garage rock. Much of the work helps guide listeners through the narratives and secrets that are buried in the music.
Their latest release, Last Days of Magic, is a Stephen King-inspired, femme-fatale-filled concept album that investigates the space where science-fiction and mysticism meet modern society.
And while Chicago will always be home, North by North has set out on the life-adventure of The Never-Ending Tour--performing over 300 shows since early 2017, and showing no signs of stopping. Along the way, North by North has had the fantastic opportunity to share the stage with bands including Tegan & Sara, Sheer Mag, IAMDYNAMITE, The Pack A.D., and more.
Lucky Odds
Lucky Odds
The Lucky Odds are a greasy, rockabilly fueled, hard-charging, dirty little rock-n-roll band from San Antonio, TX. Consisting of guitar, bass, and a stand up drummer/vocalist, which is unique and exciting to watch (not to mention exhausting), this trio bring a high intensity energy to their live shows that is s
