THE SOUND

Gandhi’s Gun is an alternative rock/pop band from San Antonio Texas. Due to their unique blend of ‘classic meets modern rock and pop’, Columbia recording artist Bryan Scott of the band “The Union Underground” insists Gandhi’s Gun’s Mik Rowe is “the new Lenny Kravitz” and singer Hugo Ferreira of the platinum selling band Tantric said “One day I’ll be opening for them” on the Gandhi’s Gun “One Shot” epk.

The band is fresh out of the studio and poised to release their newest work “Un-Chained”, the follow up to their first record “Full Throttle”.

THE BEGINNING

The band formed in Waco Texas. After winning a local ‘Battle Of The Bands’ competition that afforded them studio time, they recorded their first EP. Their EP ended up in the hands of JJM Management Company who have served as management for such bands as “The Union Underground,” and “Anyone.” After development, JJM moved the band to the west coast to begin playing professionally.

THE PLACES

Once out west the band played shows in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Some of these venues include The Gig, the Whiskey A GoGo, the Viper Room, Qualcomm Stadium (X Games), the House of Blues (Vegas), the Hard Rock Pool (Vegas), and the Rainbow (Vegas). During this time, the band changed names three times and went through several line-up changes.

Some of the notable lineup members at one time or another include Nick Rich (grandson to the late-great drummer Buddy Rich), Chris Fox (Ashley Simpson’s drummer), Elias “Bones” Andra (currently with Chester Bennington of Linkin Park and Stone Temple Pilots), and John Moyer (currently the bass player for Disturbed).

Other personal acquaintances of Rowe’s include Bryan Scott of The Union Underground, Hugo Ferreira of Tantric, and top ten contestant on the most recent series of The Voice, Johnny Grey. Rowe remains the only founding member.

While out west, the band was helped by agent Andrew Goodfriend working then at the Agency Group and now at TKO Agency. Goodfriend was able to gain the band more exposure by getting them on tour with ‘Bowling for Soup’ and supporting bands such as Buckcherry, Lifhouse, Fuel, and Colbie Colet. Due to the band’s success, Rowe was given the cover shot on Vegas Rocks Magazine as “The Next Big Thing.”
