Bekah Kelso & The Fellas
Bekah Kelso & The Fellas
After several years of life on the road and 4 albums released, these days I'm exploring art from a more grounded place (quite literally). I'm making music in Central TX, raising my two young children, and working as a successful Realtor to boot. Talk about diversifying...

Coming home to San Antonio was a great move for me, as I found a rich community of artists to connect with. In 2013 I started working with my band "Bekah Kelso & The Fellas" with my brother Ryan Kelso, and friends Damian Rodriguez (producer/engineer on several BK albums) and Ricky Hernandez. That was also the year the San Antonio Current named me Best Singer-Songwriter, an accolade I was grateful to receive for a second time the following year.

Last few years in a nutshell:

In 2015 I released "No Stranger" with BKTF. Hector Saldana, then of the San Antonio Express News, said of the effort, "It’s a leap forward for the talented Kelso whose voice on her new originals can conjure Janis Joplin’s more commercial pop side (on “Lucky Son of a Gun”), a deeper Rickie Lee Jones (on “Get On Home”), Fiona Apple’s manic intensity (on “The Point” and “Raven’s Song”), a Broadway chanteuse (on “Devil’s Rope”) and romantic old-school R&B singer Roberta Flack (on “”Odyssey” and “Wicked Love”). I was/am still thrilled to have my voice/style harkened to so many amazing women in music.

In 2016 I collaborated with a group of earth-loving artists to release "The Green Album", a powerful collaboration which featured brand new music from 13 performers. A portion of all sales benefited The Rainforest Trust, an international nonprofit organization with over 25 years of experience in protecting our planet's forest ecosystems. Donated proceeds from sales of The Green Album have already saved nearly 5000 acres! Get more info here www.thegreenalbum.net. I am also proud to volunteer and support local non profits The M.U.S.I.C. Project, San Antonio Pets Alive, Impact San Antonio, and the local chapter of the Boys and Girls Club.

These days I work hard and happily as a successful central Texas Realtor and as a mom to 2 amazing kids (Kaius, 5 & Eva, 2). All the while, I continue to push myself in creative pursuits and live performances. I just finished working on my first rock opera, Paradise City, in which I sang the lead role opposite piano rocker Lucas Jack, and was also a co-producer. This was a tremendous opportunity to learn and grow and I finished our weekend run at The Josephine Theater feeling inspired and connected in a way I haven't felt in a very long time. I'm rounding out 2017 working on a few co-writing projects that I'm super excited about and ready to emerge in 2018 with new songs to share and new love to give. Thanks for reading... xoxo
The Foreign Arm
The Foreign Arm
Out of mutual adoration and an earnest desire to collaborate with each other, five artists of the San Antonio music scene came together. After a couple short months of song writing, they played their first ever gig in the unlikely setting of the BiblioTech, the country’s first all-digital public library. More shows and a desire for a fuller sound saw the addition of two more members; just one last element was needed to describe this powerful fusion of seven individuals that brought poetic ballads, intricately placed harmonies, and symphonic fanfare together. Lead vocalist & guitarist Nicholas Blevins reached into his inner depths and dubbed the ensemble ‘The Foreign Arm’ to describe the constant, collective journey of life, and our status as travelers through it. The Foreign Arm continued as such with the aim of reaching out to transcend spaces in the universal language of music.
The Foreign Arm debuted their full band sound in January 2016 at the Jo Long Theatre in San Antonio, TX, during Dream Week at the Music Unites Concert. Their ethereal music began capturing the attention of audiences who long for soulful nuances laced with feel of good jams from the last century. The band itself has a melting pot of musical influences from pop, indie, rnb, to jazz, neo-soul, and some classical by way of Darian Thomas on violin.
